hai kids!

well since this community was launched the holloways have become IMMENSE, innit. they're playing at reading and have a lot of new songs, and you might've seen rob on the telly or at festivals cause of playing with larrikin love. he was on E4's carling coverage a couple of nights ago. and they got an interview in the indie's review bit.

anyway here's one of their many new songs which they've been playing on the tour, it's part of a bunch of new things with a less upbeat sound and a social conscience. when they played this at the launch it was hysterical. and someone took the song's advice and gave me a daffodil. good times with the hollogays <33

i think their next london gig is at the beginning of june, if anyone wants to go, it'll be at nambucca i think. peace out monkeys, night xxx

i should say something - the holloways

ETA: before i go to bed i forgot to say you can listen to 'diamonds and pearls' which is properly great on their myspace. lovely song that.

Disorder Magazine Interview [07 Mar 2006|05:19pm]

Becky Randall, Disorder Magazine Feb/March 06, Issue 13

So often a new band on the scene get elevated as the 'next big thing'; championed by the music press, and praised for advancing the wheel of musical evolution. But 'flavours of the month' and the NME 'darlings' are more often than not over-valued and short-lived. And although they may not break any boundaries or challenge any perceptions, The Holloways are truly unique in that they are simply happy to write their music as long as people continue to dance to it.

Cont.Collapse )

It is worth noting that the next page over contains a picture of a man groping his manboobs, while clad in sky blue briefs with an orange pattern of small sausage dogs and marijuana leaves. I don’t know why this is vitally important, IT JUST IS, okay?
